Toronto -- With its true tales of cheating death at thehand of a spiritual helper, John Geiger's The Third Man Factor has been optioned by Oscar-winningscreenwriter Akiva Goldsman to become a television series orfeature film.
The man behind A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code plans to bring the bestseller to life onscreen through Weed Road, his production company at Warner, saysGeiger, chair of the editorial board at The Globe and Mail. Theadventure science book, published in January, shares stories ofthose who have experienced the "third man," a syndrome in whichtraumatized people - usually adventurers and explorers - on theedge of death feel an "incorporeal being" beside them, coachingthem to survive.
