Author John Geiger, editorial board editor ofCanada’s Globe and Mail newspaper, has presented in richdetail an impeccably researched book tracing a recurringphenomenon: that individuals facing life and deathsituations oftentimes experience a sense of an incorporeal beingbeside them, encouraging them to make one final effort tosurvive.
