Vikings: Season 3, Episode 4 ends with a TMF event
John and Forum:
I just noted that the history Channel hit, Vikings, ended episode 4 of the now 3rd season with a powerful third man event. In short, a chracter named Siggy runs across an ice lake to save two small boys, who then fall into the ice water. She dives in and saves one of the boys, and upon emerging, sees her departed daughter greeting her on the ice. Then a mysterious wanderer named Harbard kneels as she still is in the ice with one lad to rescue. She dives down and finds the other boy, comes to the surface, and then quietly sinks ino the ice water. In this episode, Siggy isnt given the way out, but peace and courage to complete her mission.

Flaubert’s ‘Temptation of Saint Anthony’, Guy de Maupassant’s ‘The Horla’, and, of course, T.S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’. All have been linked to the Third Man Factor. If you come across an example, add it here.
