My parents were in this horrific accident and barely survived it.  My mother jumped into the open ocean at night, in a middle of a storm.  High waves and wind moved her away from the airplane remains quickly into what felt like total darkness.  She was completely disoriented and alone.  Out of NOWHERE, here comes this person swimming towards her and tells her, "follow me, swim this way!"  My mother asks, "where is the raft!"  and he answers, "the raft is this way, follow me."  She asked again, "how do you know?"  and he says, "trust me, follow me."  My mother followed him into what she said was pitch darkness, nothing to be seen or heard.  After a few minutes she told me she start hearing voices, people crying and yelling... and there is the raft!  My mother asked this person, "what is your name?,"  he replied: "they call me Toby."  She thanked him and that was the last time my mother saw Toby.  After the rescue my parents searched through the entire passenger list and found no one named Tobias or Toby.  They asked everyone rescued if they knew of a 'Toby.'   Total mystery,  No Tobias, no Toby.  And my mother wondered, why would someone swim away from safety, into pitch darkness, to rescue me?  How could anyone see me?   How could Toby know which way to swim?


Another twist to this story is that at exactly the time of impact my grandfather (father's father) wakes up in the middle of the night and calls my uncle.  He told my uncle that something terribly wrong has happened to my parents.  My uncle calls the military base my father was based at, and after a couple of more calls he speaks with someone that was knowledgeable about flight 923.  My uncle was told that the flight departed and that they were scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt at (specific time) in the morning.  They had no idea of what had happened.  Our family, has always been amazed at this tangible fact.  I believe there must be another dimension that we cannot explain bringing these kind events and experiences.   I was born 9 months after this accident.  My parents adopted me, and my mother passed away (cancer) when I was finishing high school.  I found my birth mother in the early 90's.  It's been a beautiful life.  I know I will be shaking hands with Toby one day in the future, in this world or the next one to come.  Thanks Toby.
